Co-owner/Operator/General Manager

What I enjoy most about culinary art is the moment where my food fulfills your craving and puts a smile on your face. As a New Orleans native and culinary enthusiast, I have a constant desire to mix and combine flavors to create delicious dishes. My journey started in the culinary world, right out of high school. I knew I had found my passion and it was time to pursue it! I began working as a line cook at the New Orleans Hilton Riverside and decided that gaining experience in some of the finer restaurants in New Orleans was the best option for me. From there, I moved on to Emeril’s Delmonico, which became one of my favorite places to work. As a member of the Louisiana National Guard, I was deployed to Iraq in May 2004 and returned in September 2005. Katrina canceled my plans of returning to Delmonico’s, so I relocated to Baton Rouge and began working as a cook at Galatoire’s. In late 2005, I decided it was time to earn my Culinary Arts degree and moved to Orlando, Florida to attend Le Cordon Bleu. While attending classes, I worked for Emeril Lagasse at Emeril’s Orlando at Universal Studios and graduated with an Associate’s Degree in Culinary Arts. I then moved back home to New Orleans to work at Patois Restaurant. Soon after, I received orders from the Military to work for Task Force Gator in assisting the NOPD with patrols in New Orleans. I was later deployed back to Iraq in 2010 where I was selected to work on a special assignment at the JVB (Joint Visitors Bureau) Hotel in Baghdad, Iraq. During this assignment, I had the pleasure of working with a team of military chefs, preparing special meals for the Vice President, Secretary of Defense, dignitaries, actors, athletes and music artists for USO Tours. Upon conclusion of my final tour in Iraq, I returned home to work at a few more reputable New Orleans restaurants including Domenica and Mr. B’s Bistro. I have always felt strongly about gaining experience and techniques from many different chefs throughout the city, which has established me into the Chef I am today. Aside from culinary life, eating right and staying fit has always been another passion of mine. I’ve competed in the NPC Men’s Louisiana Bodybuilding Novice Middle Weight Championship and came in 2nd place. As Head Chef/Co-Owner, it is my personal goal to develop Chomp Nola into a healthy fast food drive thru, thus providing fast, convenient, everyday healthy meal options. Happy Chomping!
